Important Date & Times
RDC 2024 Winter Showcase Details:
- Date: Sunday December 15th
- Location: South Shore School – 4800 S. Henderson St. 98118 (in the rotunda area)
- Performance Times: There will be 3 different showcases!
- Showcase #1: 11:30am-1:00pm
- Showcase #2: 2:00-3:30pm
- Showcase #3: 4:30-6:00pm
- Who: All RDC dancers/classes will perform (except the toddler/caregiver and technique & progressions/strengthening classes)!
- What: This is a casual, work-in-progress performance, so each classes dance is only 1-2 minutes long. Dancers will sit with their families before and after their performance and we will call them up one class at a time.
- Attendance: A reminder to attend every class between now and December 15th! It’s important your dancer be in class for their last three classes before the performance, so they feel confident and prepared! If a dancer misses a class in the last two weeks, they may not be able to participate in the performance.
- Performance schedule:
- Each class has been assigned to one showcase and given an estimated performance time.
- 75% of our dancers have multiple classes and/or multiple dancers in their family. It’s a good thing, but also presents a challenge when scheduling performances. We’ll try our best to assign families to just one showcase time, but if you have multiple classes and/or students, your dancers will likely be in more than one showcase.
- If you’re enrolled in a combo class, your dancer will only do one dance/genre. Pay attention to which one, it's listed!
- Cost: We’re asking for a $-$10 per family suggested donation at the door, via cash/check or Venmo/Paypal. We don’t have a ticket cost for this performance, but we do have to pay to rent the venue/audio equipment and pay our staff, so every little bit helps!
- How many people can you invite? You may invite up to 10 people per family, excluding your dancer.
- What should dancers wear: No costumes, but dancers can wear regular dance clothes. Festive/holiday/winter attire is also encouraged for both dancers and the audience! No need to change clothes for multiple classes, just bring your different shoes.

- Tuesday, June 3: RDC CLOSED for recital prep and load-in.
- Wednesday, June 4, Thursday, June 5 & Friday, June 6, 4-10pm: Mandatory dress rehearsals at IKEA PAC for all dancers.
- SATURDAY, JUNE 7 & SUNDAY, JUNE 8: RECITALS (5)!
Location & Tickets
LOCATION: Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center - 400 S. 2nd St. Renton
TICKETS & SEATING:
- Tickets will go on sale for recital volunteers on Friday, May 9th, and on Monday, May 12th at 10am for everyone else.
- There may be a limit on the number of tickets you can purchase per dancer, per show, to start. If we have shows that haven’t sold as many tickets as we have seats for by May 18, we’ll open those up for people to purchase more.
- It is assigned seating, so you will choose your seats when you buy them online.
- Tickets will be $23 each, including fees.

Important Costume Dates
- Week of January 13-18: Costume measurements taken in class
- February 3: Costume deposits due
- Week of May 5-10: In-class costume/tight distribution
Costume Process & Details
- RDC staff will take dancer’s measurements in class the week of January 13-18th. Our teachers choose the costumes for each class and then we size them carefully and order everything your dancer needs. Don’t worry, we account for growth between January and June!
- Dancers will get a different costume for each of their classes. If you’re enrolled in a combo class (Ballet/Tap, Hip Hop/Acro) your dancer will do two dances and they’ll get a 2 in 1 costume, for one cost.
- There is a $75 per class costume deposit due up front that has been posted to your account. The actual costs of each costume are reconciled after we order them, and your account will be charged for any additional costs or credited for any difference in March.
- We work to keep costs down and our deposit amount is set at $75 to hopefully cover all costume costs, but costumes have increased quite a bit in cost over the last few years, so you should expect that you will have a small balance due, even after the $75 deposit.
- Costume, tights and accessories are included with your costume purchase.

- You will own these costumes and although it’s a LOT of money for an outfit they are going to wear only a few times, most of our dancers wear them for several years after for dress up, costume weeks at RDC and other things!

RECITAL PICTURES
Date, Time and Location

Picture Info
- Picture Days are not mandatory, but it's a great way to document your dancer’s year. We print a picture book each year with all class pictures, so you/your dancer will go down in RDC history!
- Each class has their own specific time slot for their pictures.
- Every dancer will take an individual photo and do a class group photo for each class.
- You are under no obligation to buy them until you’ve seen them. They will be posted online for you to view and you can order them there.
- All dancers should arrive to pictures with the costumes/tights/shoes already on and their hair and make-up (optional) already done. Please arrive ready to take photos!
- Each dancer must have an adult with them to supervise.
- We won’t wait for anyone so DO NOT BE LATE! If you’re late or you miss your time slot, you’ll miss your pictures!
ON-STAGE DRESS REHEARSALS (All dancers)

On-Stage dress rehearsal Info
- On-Stage rehearsals are MANDATORY in order to perform in the recitals.
- This is for all dancers this year.
- Dancers should show up to these rehearsals already in their costumes/tights/shoes, ready to dance.
- All dancers must have an adult with them during their time slot, once it’s confirmed, as there will not be supervision for your dancer during these rehearsals.
- You will sit in the audience before and after your rehearsal time slot.
